Decisions that Determine Destiny
“HOUSES OF AUTHORITY"

Part 3

This month I want to continue to illustrate how to make decisions of quality. You will recall that the past few months I have outlined the three houses of authority, the Individual, the Family Unit and the THIRD HOUSE OF AUTHORITY: THE LOCAL CHURCH.

I would like you to consider how and why you make decisions. You need to know that your decisions have a direct effect on your God-given destiny. You have authority to make such quality decisions that can direct your life in a Godly pattern.

You will note that the principles for a quality decision are contained within the eleventh chapter of the letter to the Hebrews, verses 23 to 29.

Hebrews 11:23: By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.”

Verse 24 “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;”

Refused or Refusing means to deny someone, to disregard one’s own interests or to refuse something offered.

You need to recognize that if it is not God’s perfect will, it should be rejected. Jesus has come to give you abundant life, so you need to let go of the inferior for the superior.

Verse 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;“

Choosing or selecting means picking one rather than another. Every moment of your day is full of selections. Make the selection that God inspires you to make. Pray and believe God for the leading.

Verse 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.”

Esteeming means counting, thinking and judging an item or situation. Moses kept looking away from the riches of Egypt to Christ Jesus. As such he concluded that the reproach was more valuable than other earthly possessions. You need to judge and turn away from ungodly things and look to and pursue the direction that Christ has shown you.

Verse 27 “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”

Forsook means leave behind, to abandon, or disregard. In your daily decisions you need to set aside certain ungodly influences and do what you know to do that is right. Do it because it is right!

Enduring means to be steadfast, solid and firm. Once you know the truth you need to allow that truth to keep you free.

Verse 28 “Through faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.”

Keeping means to carry it out, to act or perform something, to produce or be the author of something. Be a man or woman of action. Do what God’s word tells us to do. Do it to the glory of God.

Verse 29 “By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.”

Passing or crossing over means to get to the destination. This is God’s guarantee that you will indeed be victorious. Your days will always be full of decisions to make.

So the principles are: Refuse, Choose, Esteem, Forsake, Endure, Keep and Pass on to victory.

Quality decisions you make in God WILL PUT you in the right place.

For now, remember to say the following aloud with conviction, “I’m believing to be at the Right Place, at the Right Time saying the Right Thing and the Right Thing to say is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
